Advancing World Class Prospect in Prolific Gold Fields

Whale Mine Property, Yellow Pine Mining District, Nevada, USA

Nevada MapThe Whale Mine consists of 12 contiguous unpatented mineral claims 30 miles southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. The property is located in the Yellow Pine District which is classed as a major district for lead and zinc production and a relatively important silver district. Although the mines in the area have been worked primarily for their lead-zinc-silver values, a significant amount of gold has been recovered as a by-product of copper-lead-silver mining.

The history of the area dates back to 1856 following investigations of lead ore. The first ore was smelted in 1857 and a mill was built in 1898. The Yellow Pine District has been mined primarily for lead-zinc-silver, however, an estimated 91,000 ounces of gold has also been recovered.

The area is geologically favourable ground for the localization of potential economic base and/or precious metal mineralization.
